Every pet has a story. Ours started on a very muddy doormat.

Hi, I'm Mia — dog mom to Biscuit, a golden retriever mix who has never met a puddle he didn't like, and cat mom to Mochi, a tabby who believes every sofa is a scratching post and every closed door is a personal insult.

Life with the two of them is the best kind of chaos. It's also a lot of muddy paws at the door, nail trims that turn into wrestling matches, fur on everything, and long winter afternoons when a bored dog and a bored cat decide to entertain themselves.

For years I bought whatever promised to fix those little problems. Some things were great. A lot of them were overpriced, fell apart in a week, or looked so ugly I hid them in a cupboard.

So I started PawsFable — a shop for the simple, well-made things that make everyday life with dogs and cats a little easier. Right now we're focused on one problem almost every dog home knows: barking at the door. Our first product is a handheld ultrasonic bark deterrent — no shock, no spray. (And yes, Biscuit and Mochi are the two friends curled up in our logo.)

How I choose what goes in the shop

I do the homework. Before anything is listed, I compare suppliers, read the specifications line by line and look at what buyers say about similar products. If the claims don't add up, it doesn't make the cut — and on our pages we only state what the specifications support.

It has to solve a real, everyday problem. Play, grooming, walks, cosy naps, clean floors. If it doesn't make daily life with a dog or cat easier, it doesn't make the cut.

It has to look at home in your home. Pet gear shouldn't have to hide in a cupboard.
